All sessions are one-on-one with Dr. Thau via Skype.
You will become more muscular and toned from practicing Thau Yoga -- much more muscular and toned. But that's merely a side effect, not the main goal. Likewise for strength and flexibility. The primary focus in Thau Yoga is always on learning a specific set of skills.
As such, practicing Thau Yoga is much more like learning a martial art or musical instrument then the typical yoga or Pilates classes with which you are likely familiar. Steady practice is required, and it can take a little sometimes frustrating time to even learn to do what you're being asked.
Take one example, breath. In each Thau Yoga pose, I will be asking you to focus on and control your breath in very specific ways unique to that pose. But it can take anywhere from 3 - 7 sessions before someone can even begin to pay attention to breath while also trying to control the body in unfamiliar positions.
More generally, Thau Yoga teaches you to be more aware and in control of your breath, posture, and movement throughout your day-to-day life. And, these skills, once acquired, will enlighten and improve literally every moment of your life. But the modern world of technological convenience and distraction makes it very hard, at the beginning, for some people to focus inwardly.
I offer intensive courses in Thau Yoga. All sessions are via Skype. At the end of the course, I guarantee that, besides vastly improving your muscle tone, personal appearance, strength and flexibility, literally every aspect of your life will be enlightened.
If you have specific physical problems like lower back pain, it's likely that I can also guarantee that they will improve or go away altogether as well.
I offer 3 types of courses of varying levels of intensity.
Super intensive: 36 approximately 1 hr sessions over 6 weeks; $6,000
Medium intensive: 40 approximately 1 hr sessions over 8 weeks; $6,500
Light intensive: 40 approximately 1 hr sessions over 10 weeks $6,500
Any necessary props or equipments will be shipped to you and are included in the cost of the course.
Another way Thau Yoga differs from familiar activities is that the skills involved are entirely personal. You will be learning to be aware of and control *your* body. As such, Thau Yoga is NOT a group activity -- to really be practicing it you ultimately need to be alone. If you want to continue your practice after you complete your course, you ultimately need to learn to do so without my presence, virtual or otherwise. As Rousseau observed, in any situation in which real learning is occurring, the teacher is a crutch that must, at some point, be released. This is even more so for Thau Yoga.
Once you've completed your course and are capable of engaging in the relevant skills without my guidance, if you wish to continue improving your self-awareness and self-control, I will create online videos tailored to you that take you through various subsets of the exercises we've developed for you. For example, there will be an approximately 20 minute video taking you through the most important exercises; and an approximately 5 minute routine to alleviate shoulder and neck tension; you'll also have the option of doing a full 1 hr routine.
There's no additional charge for access to your videos.
